How to Calculate Time Duration

Choose a start time and end time, then select Calculate Duration. The calculator shows the elapsed time in hours and minutes, total minutes and decimal hours.

Work Hours and Breaks

For a work shift, enter an optional unpaid break in minutes. The break is subtracted from the total elapsed time so you can see the net working time.

Overnight Shifts

If the end time is on the following day, enable “End time is on the next day.” For example, a shift from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM is calculated as 8 hours.
